A domain name may contain the letters A-Z, the numbers 0-9 and hyphen (-). .no, .com, .net and others allows national characters such as for example Æ, Ø and Å. A domain name must contain minimum 2 or maximum 63 characters before the period. In addition to these rules there are specific rules for the various top level domains.
